The Raiders are pleased to call the historic Scarborough Arena Gardens their home. The Scarborough Gardens is located in the City of Toronto, and might best be known throughout the world as the rink used in the hockey movie Youngblood. The movie showcased the Scarborough Gardens as Hamilton Arena (see pics below).
The Scarborough Gardens, community centre, and Birchmount Stadium is a combined $152 million, complete center for sport, recreation, health, wellness, entertainment, and commerce – all in one location - the best of its kind in Scarborough.
The 145,000 square foot venue includes a NHL-sized ice pad, full gym, weighroom, an aquatic centre with lap and leisure pools, a gymnasium, fitness area and full running track next door at the premiere statium for Scarborough, Birchmount Stadium.
The facility is nestled into east side of the city of Toronto, right along Lake Ontario, and the gorgeous scenic Scarborough Bluffs. This part of Toronto with the beaches, bluffs, and shopping gives on the feeling of a small town whilst still having a the city of Toronto just 15 minutes away. The Wexford Raiders were once known as the best Junior hockey team in the world throughout the '90's until 2006. We are bringing Scarborough back to reclaim this history, and carry on this tradition of top quality hockey.
